Great post on the best baby toys for 2017. I like how you’ve broken it down to the age of the infant as it makes it easier. Where can I find a description of each toy without having to search the internet? Could you provide this in your post or your site somewhere? I’d like to bookmark this for future reference as our family is expecting a new baby in December.

I have no children of my own yet, but I have noticed from the baby my girlfriend babysits that he seems to love playing with everything but the toys he is giving. He is always trying to put the remote, phones, papers, anything that he can get his hands on.
Yes sometimes he will play with stuffed animals or rattles, but rarely it seems. He does love mirrors though. Any thoughts on this?

      Thank You Christopher,

Many times the everyday things lying around the home are the most interesting for children, this child is learning from playing with these home items and there is nothing wrong with a child being interested in these types of things. Who knows maybe this child will grow up to be working in the technology field, as long as the child can’t get hurt and the parents don’t mind it is fine for the child to play with these items.

There are children size toys such as ipads and cell phones which might be good choices for this child?

Wow this is a lot of good information. I took a child development class last semester and everything you said really went along with what I learned. I have 3 nieces and I’m always on a lookout for good toys for them. I can’t really afford to keep buying them new toys, but I want to make sure they have the best. Are hand-me-down toys just as good as new toys?

    • admin says:

      Thank You Brianne,

You have a good heart giving your nieces toys which will benefit their development, hand me down toys are fine for children as long as you inspect them very carefully for any hazards such as broken parts or similar problems.

Children love toys, it does not matter to them if they are brand new or slightly used.

      Jeff
