How To Learn To Play The Guitar

Today it is much easier to learn anything you have an interest to learn, I only had two choices how to learn to play the guitar when I was a boy. I started taking guitar lessons from the local music store where I bought my first guitar from, you would find most music store provided this service to encourage people to purchase musical instruments in those days. I did learn the basics from the music shop lessons to play my new guitar, but I had much more in mind I wanted to learn how to play like the great guitar players of my time. The second option at that time was to teach yourself advanced guitar techniques from Hal Leonard Music Books, so this is how I learned to play the guitar when I was just a young boy.

Great post Jeff! I have always wanted to learn to play a musical instrument (have no musical attributes 🙂 and it looks playing a guitar may be by best bet.

Sounds like Justin is offering his service which I am sure many individuals will take advantage of. I like the idea of learning to do this from the privacy of your own home and receiving these lessons at no cost!

Thanks for providing this information, and I will definitely take a look at the YouTube videos provided by Justin.

      Hello Luke
You might just surprise yourself by learning to play the guitar, I don’t believe there is anyone
who is not able to learn to play the guitar if they have the right learning tools and the patience.

I love free. Free guitar lessons are a plus. I can learn at my own pace too which is important for me. I do not have a lot of time to learn or make a commitment to a schedule. To be able to do it when convenient is better than setting up a real-time schedule. I have found a lot of information of great value from this site and motivation to get me to try to learn guitar again. At 45 I thought maybe it was too late. You made me believe it is not. Thank you for that.

      Hello Christina
I am happy you are becoming a little more motivated and interested in learning to play the guitar,
you might need a smaller guitar if you are a small built person. Many times a guitar which is too
large makes it just too difficult for people to handle to reach the frets to play the guitar
      effectively

This was a very interesting post, Jeff! When I was younger, I competed in piano competitions, but was never able to reach an octave! Maybe I should have taken guitar lessons instead! I liked the way you included the different stages that Justin uses to teach someone to play. And, if it’s free…there’s really nothing to lose!
This was a very informative and well thought out post! Thank you for sharing:)
    Blessings:)
